After visiting Dalton Farms during their amazing Sunflower Festival, I just knew I had to host some family sessions in the sunflowers and they did NOT disappoint.  Sunflowers are typically in peak bloom late August to mid September, all weather depending. The Sunflower Festival usually lasts 4-6 weeks with the Grand Opening weekend starting at the end of August that features great live music, amazing food, and a beer/wine garden.

The B Family was looking for the perfect location for their family session, to document how big their little guy has gotten since he was born. Dalton Farms could not have been a better fit to showcase their personalities and the sunflowers made such a wonderful backdrop for photos.

We scheduled their family session right before sunset, to give that amazing sunset glow and warmth to their images.  Open fields can be tough with how harsh the sun can get, so scheduling photo sessions at the right time is ideal to avoid squinting eyes and harsh shadows. The weather was just right, a complete change from our maternity session- which was a high of 30 and probably the windiest day of the year in mid November.

Dalton Farms is a 99 acre family owned and run farm conveniently located in South Jersey just off of 322, and in close proximity to Commodore Barry Bridge and Delaware Memorial Bridge.  Not only is the staff super friendly and welcoming, but there is nothing like seeing miles and miles of sunflowers in person, they are just so breathtaking- photos just do not do them justice.
